Life as we know it may have changed dramatically in the last few months, but the things that help us cope in the face of challenge have not. As we look ahead to the future, it’s clear finding and relishing moments of happiness will be ever more essential. A sense of space and freedom, fresh air, tired limbs, good food, an endless sky. It’s the sort of happiness that can be simply made – in the right place, with the right people around you.
Which is why we’re excited to announce the development of our new hotel, Another Place, The Garden; an hour’s drive away from London, a world away from the stresses of the everyday.
A Grade II listed country house dating back to 1857, Amport House in Hampshire will be the second Another Place hotel in the collection. Rich in heritage and character with formal gardens, vast grounds and open views across the English countryside, it will offer a unique space for guests to relax and let go, while connecting with the sense of history and place so deeply rooted in every brick, walkway, copse, clearing and vista.
“We’re delighted to be the new custodians of such a historic estate and can’t wait to bring it back to life, for our guests to enjoy,” says Another Place CEO Will Ashworth. “Amport House is a magnificent place that deserves love, care and preservation, all of which we’re taking into account as we draw up our designs. Our renovation will reflect the estate’s heritage, celebrate its attributes and make the most of its space and spirit, all with the same relaxed style of hospitality and atmosphere our brand is known for.”
The property will aim to have 50 bedrooms, restaurants and a bar as well as all the facilities for which Watergate Bay and Another Place have become known, – such as a Swim Club and an Ofsted-registered Kids’ Zone. If the development goes as planned guests could also enjoy everything from a yoga studio and riding lessons to a reed pool experience too. “We’re fully focused on creating a hotel that’s special,” concludes Will. “It’s an opportunity to design something unique for the world we now live in – somewhere close to our capital and easy to access that gives people the space and freedom they need to truly relax.”
Another Place, The Garden should recieve planning permission in early 2023.
