Another Place, The Lake

Coronavirus – We are open. For more information click here.

A relaxed hotel on the shores of Ullswater in the Lake District. Another Place, The Lake gives you days together and days apart as a family, time around a table for dinner, by the pool, wild swimming or stand-up paddleboarding on the lake.

It’s about the good things in life; having fun, eating well, letting go.

The hotel

40 bedrooms span the original Georgian building and the new contemporary wing. But, Another Place is more than just a hotel.

Inside you’ll find Rampsbeck Restaurant, The Living Space bar and terrace, a relaxed library and Swim Club, our take on a spa. If you are bringing children, you can dine, swim or have a massage while they are exploring their wild sides in Kids’ Zone, our Ofsted registered creche, which has supervised sessions.

Outside, Another Place covers 18 acres of National Park. Walk to the private lakeshore through the gardens, or detour via the Sheep Shed to pick up a wetsuit and try wild swimming.

Last minute availability

We still have some last minute availability in double and lake view rooms, family suites and dog friendly rooms.

Take a look at our last minute page for more details.

Escape to the Lake in autumn

Slow down. Explore – whatever that means to you. Find your way to the lake’s edge, as far as the fell-tops, or just downstairs to our local gin menu. With our two-night break, Escape to the Lake, dinner is included on both nights. Everything else is up to you.

All the family can make themselves at home here. Everyone can use our grounds for outdoor adventure, while our dedicated, Ofsted-registered, kids’ space includes a wood cabin, a safari tent, an outside play and woodland area. From there, we run supervised kids’ sessions, including activities, crafts and forest skills.
