Another Place, The Lake

A new, relaxed hotel on the shores of Ullswater in the Lake District. Another Place, The Lake gives you days together and days apart: around a table for dinner, by the pool, or stand-up paddleboarding on the lake.

It’s about the good things in life; having fun, eating well, letting go.

The hotel

40 bedrooms span the original Georgian building and the new contemporary wing. But, Another Place is more than just a hotel.

Inside you’ll find Rampsbeck Restaurant, The Living Space bar and terrace, a relaxed library and Swim Club, our take on a spa. It’s the little touches that make your stay, from the Tunnock’s teacakes in your room, to the thoughtful accessories in our newest addition, the Joules Suite; a spacious, well-appointed room, designed in collaboration with lifestyle brand,  Joules.

Outside, Another Place covers 18 acres of National Park. Walk to the private lakeshore through the gardens, or detour via the Sheep Shed to pick up a wetsuit and a stand-up paddleboard.

Stand up paddleboarding on Ullswater lake

It’s not unusual

to see stand-up paddleboarders leaving for the lake or guided wildlife walkers off to the fells. You can count yourselves among them, just look for additional extras when you book your room.

Spend Christmas in the Lakes

Join our four-night house party from 23 December. Hot chocolate, dinner spreads with all the trimmings, mulled wine, fir trees, mince pies and, with some luck, snow on the fells. Start a new tradition with family and friends. Go stand-up paddleboarding on the lake or a guided walk in the fells. Then, on Boxing Day, a trip on the Ullswater Steamer.

The Joules Suite

Another Place, The Lake has recently unveiled the Joules suite, a spacious suite, designed exclusively for the hotel by lifestyle brand, Joules. It offers views over Ullswater and the surrounding fells, and beautifully appointed interiors, with walls and soft furnishings finished with a palette of greens, soft grey and striking flashes of mustard yellow, incorporating the bold use of colour that Joules is known and loved for. The collaboration includes the addition of their own-designed sofa and armchair, bedding, kitchenware, flasks and a radio. Guests of the suite will also be able to borrow Joules accessories, such as backpacks and picnic sets.

Swim Club

Relax into a treatment. Give some time over to the sauna, the outdoor hot tub and the 20m infinity pool. ‘Swimming in the view’ might sound a bit idealistic, but in Swim Club it’s every bit the truth.
