Wing surfing lessons on Ullswater

An RYA-approved introductory lesson designed for people who have no previous wing surfing or wing foiling experience.

Cost: £100 per person (max four people)
Duration: 2 hours

Location: Start from our private lakefront launch area
Includes: Introduction to wing handling on land and water using a stable SUP or windsurf board
Group: Maximum 4 people per session. Ages 13+ under 18s must be accompanied by an adult

All equipment, including wetsuits, buoyancy aid and helmet will be provided.

Once you've mastered wing surfing, this RYA-approved lesson is aimed at those ready to progress on to the foil.

Cost: £150 per person
Duration: 2 hours

Location: Launch from our private lakefront area with foiling-ready equipment
Includes: One-to-one progression session introducing foiling techniques and first lift-offs
Group: One-to-one session. Ages 13+ under 18s must be accompanied by an adult

All equipment including wetsuits, buoyancy aid and helmet will be provided.

What you'll learn during your lesson:

During this session you will gain the necessary skills to experience your first flights on the foil using the power of the wing! The lesson will include:

  1. How to risk asses the launch site

  2. How to set up the foil equipment

  3. How to launch and land with the foil board and wing

  4. How to fall safely

  5. First flights on foil

This session is the starting point which will put you on the pathway to becoming a competent wing surfer or progressing to Wing foiling. The lesson will include:

  1. Launch area risk assessment

  2. How to set the equipment up

  3. How to handle the wing on land

  4. Developing power with the wing

  5. Self Rescue Techniques

  6. Handling the wing and board when entering the water

  7. Transitioning from in the water to standing on the board

  8. Riding on the board on the water at various angles to the wind

  9. Turning the board
