Celebrating 35 years of Discovery, Land Rover have partnered with Another Place to encourage our guests to get out in the fells with their latest vehicles as well as provided dog beds and bowls for our four-legged friends.

With over 45 years’ experience C-Skins are constantly pushing the limits of wetsuit design and materials. They have kitted out the Sheep Shed with the latest swim wetsuit technology and these suits are available for you to use on your open water swim sessions and paddleboarding lessons.

Born on the shoreline, land&water evokes that warm glow after time in the elements. Featured in all our rooms at Another Place, land&water’s bath and body products are bursting with pure essential oils and actives. Sustainably sourced. Small batches. Natural and ethical recipes.

Owner and instructor, Adrian Bacon, will take guests out for a unique experience and beautiful way to see the lake. We take 1.5 hour lessons most days with sessions suitable for families from 7+ years and sessions for 11 years and over.

Experienced open water swimmer Colin Hill has completed an English Channel Solo Crossing and has been inducted into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame. Based exclusively at Another Place he offers guided open water swim sessions (introduction open water, cross lake swims, night swims & winter swims), family swim adventure trips and swim technique sessions in a world class endless pool with video analysis located at the hotel, ideal for anyone wanting to improve their swim efficiency.

Made up of volunteers who are on call 365 days a year 24/7 in all weather conditions, the team relies on the generosity of the public to remain operational. Mountain Rescue Team Members are trained not only to rescue in the fells but also underground, in water and urban/rural patient care. So much more than mountains!

Micralite provide all-terrain FastFold strollers that encourage family adventures every single day. These can be borrowed from front desk during your stay. They also provide lightweight travel cots which we use in the hotel bedrooms.

Wild Haweswater lies in a secluded corner of the Lake District, where the RSPB and United Utilities are restoring nature in the valleys and fells. Wildlife experiences are available to book online and we recommend the Swindale Valley guided walk.

Operators of award-winning cruises on Ullswater for the last 160 years. The cruises connect to some of the most famous and iconic walking routes in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The closest pier stop to Another Place is Pooley Bridge. The Steamers also stop at Howtown Pier, Glenridding and Aira Force.

Local cycle specialists Arragons Cycle Hire provide an eBike delivery and collection service from the hotel, as well as collection from Lowther Castle. Hire bikes and spend your time in the Lakes car free.
