The fells turn white, the fire stays lit. Christmas arrives at The Brackenrigg Inn, our traditional Cumbrian pub on the shore of Ullswater, with a festive season of local, hearty food to match the walks outside.

Two courses for £25, three courses for £30
25 November - 3 January
Think roast parsnip soup with Cumbrian butter, panko breaded brie with cranberry sauce, a turkey ballotine wrapped in smoked bacon, or a festive burger stacked with Wensleydale and pigs in blankets. Finish with a chocolate yule log or a gingerbread ice cream sandwich soaked in gin.
Christmas day lunch
Four course for £75 per person
Start with prosecco or mulled wine, then choose from turkey ballotine with trimmings, slow-braised Cumbrian beef feather blade, or mushroom Wellington. Finish with Christmas pudding, sticky toffee, or dark chocolate and orange torte.
Christmas and New Year at The Brackenrigg Inn
Normal service all day. Food service ends at 7pm.
Four courses, £75 per person. Tables need a pre-order, paid in full two weeks ahead.
Two sittings, 12pm and 2.30pm.
Breakfast for resident guests only.
Start the festivities with a glass of prosecco or mulled wine. Then tuck into turkey ballotine with all the trimmings, slow-braised Cumbrian beef feather blade, or a mushroom Wellington built for the middle of winter. Finish with Christmas pudding, sticky toffee, or dark chocolate and orange torte.
Non-resident guests depart by 5pm, leaving the pub to our guests for the evening. There's no evening food service at Brackenrigg — resident guests can head to the hotel for the Christmas buffet instead, £20 per person.

Christmas is better with the fire close by. Stay the night in one of our contemporary en-suite rooms, choose from a single, double or two-bedroom suite for a family of four, and wake up to a full cooked breakfast before the lake stirs into view. All rooms are dog-friendly.
