Stand-up Paddleboarding
in the Lake District
Accessible, easy to learn and seriously fun, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world.
And when you venture out onto the lake, you’ll find a different perspective. Lessons and hire available from the Sheep Shed.
Please note that SUP will stop for the winter from 31 November until 15 February. The Sheep Shed will be open as normal for wetsuit hire and hot showers.
Paddleboarding on Ullswater
Cost: £40
Duration: 1.5 hours
Location: Start from our private jetty.
Includes: Introduction to SUP including a mini tour.
Group: Six people per instructor. Ages 8+ years dependent on lesson type, Children under 18 years must be accompanied by adults.
What you will learn
Lessons, taught by fully qualified ASI instructors, are tailored every session, so you can decide how adventurous you want to be. No special skills are required.
Lessons will include:
All the equipment you need to get started, including the latest C-Skins wetsuits.
Checking the lake conditions, understanding potential hazards and how to avoid them
Carrying the board and paddling comfortably
Prone paddling and when to use it, stance and positioning on the board
Paddling techniques
How to fall safely and get back on
Lessons can be arranged for families, groups or individuals.
