Dalemain Marmalade Festival
Founded in 2005, the Dalemain Marmalade Awards are serious business in The Lakes. With hundreds of entries from all over the world and high profile judges including Xanthe Clay, food writer for the Telegraph, Will Torrent and Bridgette Hardy, it is recognised as the world’s premiere preserving awards.
Judging takes place on 16 February and the awards will be announced at the festival on 16 March. Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens will be open from 10am – 4pm on 16 & 17 March.
These artisan awards promote small scale producers using the open-pan method. They put marmalade makers on the map and winners can display their ‘Gold’ ‘Silver’ or ‘Bronze’ Award rounds on their jars, declaring their marmalade as one of the best quality preserves in the world.
