Ten Thousand Daffodils

From 24 April until 24 June

Helen Ratcliffe’s project and art installation of ten thousand daffodils made of ceramic is unveiled this April. The charity fundraising initiative brings communities together as described by William Wordsworth’s famous poem.

Dalemain Plant Fair

The World’s Original Marmalade Festival at Penrith & Dalemain Mansion

Sunday 11 June

A selection of craft stalls, independent growers and specialist nurseries set within Dalemain’s RHS garden and established plantsman’s garden. Take a tour with the head gardner, visit the tearoom and taste the world’s best marmalade.

Ten Thousand Daffodils

 From 24 April to 24 June 

Lowther Castle will be hosting “Ten Thousand Daffodils” an installation of ceramic daffodils within the gardens echoing William Wordsworth’s experience over 200 years ago.

The Great North Swim

The Great North Swim at Windermere is the largest open water swimming event in the UK. As well as swimming events, there will be exhibition stands, food stalls and activities.

The Lake District festival set in the Deer park at Lowther estate. With 250 artists set across 13 stages. Headline acts last year include the Stereophonics, Supergrass and The Streets.

Lake District Summer Music Festival

Throughout July and August

See, hear and experience the finest classical music across the Lake District. Events take place in various locations. The full line-up is released in May.

Stand-up paddleboarding on Ullswater

Saturday 9 September 

The ultimate triathlon event, watch the event from the lake shore or register to take part. Over 150 participants will be involved. SUP lessons and SUP yoga lessons are included in the ticket price.
