CHRISTMAS BREAKS IN THE LAKE DISTRICT

Planning on spending Christmas in the Lake District? Join our four-day Christmas house party. Let us take care of everything; a paddle on the lake, cocktail making for you, stories around the tree for the children. Back together to swap stories over a feast before tucking up in bed and watching the starry night sky for Father Christmas following the fell skyline.

Christmas 2022 will be bookable from 2 February.

Christmas Breaks in the Lake District

Spend Christmas on the shores of Ullswater with dinner each night and breakfast each morning, plus lunch with all the trimmings on Christmas Day.

Fill your days with lake sports or a wine tasting afternoon and your nights with plenty of feasting. There’s fun and games for the children, presents under the tree and time in the pool.

23 December

Arrive early. Leave your bags and explore. Find a spot by the fire for mulled wine and a mince pie. Spend some quiet time in the library while the children are happy with hot chocolate and making reindeer food and wreaths ready for the big event. Children can get early supper, leaving you to enjoy dinner, which while it isn’t formal, it’s still something a little bit special.

Christmas Eve

We’re hoping the fells will be topped with snow and you can get outside for a brisk walk after breakfast. There’ll be archery, or a chance to get on the lake with one of our sports. Then settle back inside for an afternoon of wine tasting. Later, after dinner, take part in our carol singing or just join us around the tree for festive drinks.

Christmas Day

There’ll be a champagne breakfast with waffles and gifts around the tree for all the children.
Lunch is a festive feast with all the trimmings. Afterwards curl up in the library, lounge in Swim Club or get outside and walk off lunch ready for supper.

Boxing Day

Take some time over breakfast and then join the brave for a Boxing Day dip in the lake. Explore outside, on the lake or among the fells and then, thankfully, we will welcome you back indoors. After dinner there’ll be live music for toe-tappers or big-steppers.

27 December

One final breakfast and a dip in the pool, before we have to say goodbye.
