February half term family activities

ON OUR DOORSTEP

Get active down at the lakeshore with a range of activities over half term. Let the children off to try their hands at stone skimming, star gazing on night walks or join you in the water for raft building.

ACTIVITIES IN KIDS’ ZONE

Throughout half term there will be a series of exciting, age appropriate activities and games in our supervised sessions

6 months – 5 years

10am – 12pm daily

3-7 years & 7-12 years

Afternoon supervision – 1.30pm to 4pm (Saturdays 1pm – 3.30pm)
Evening supervision – 6.30pm to 10pm

Archery at Another Place

ARCHERY

Saturday 9, 16  February – 3.30pm – 4.30pm

Monday 18, Tuesday 19 & Thursday 21 & Saturday 23 February – 11.30pm – 12.30pm

Our coaches run through the basics of archery for children. Theory and safety, then shooting at targets a stone’s throw from our front door.

Archery is £5pp and suitable for children 7 years and over .

A great family activity, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUPing) is accessible, easy to learn and seriously fun. Our fully qualified instructors tailor every session. There’s no age limit and no special skills are required. £30pp.

Starting from the hotel, paddle and float your way around the lake in the company of a qualified instructor in either a kayak (adults) or a canoe (families) and take in all that the valley has to offer. £30pp.

Friday 15 – Sunday 24 February

The Rheged Centre is a hive of activity over February half term. Join in with family events like theatre creative workshops and daily family films.

THEATRE BY THE LAKE: ‘FAMILY CONCERT; GIDDY GOAT

Sunday 17 February, 3pm

With lots of audience participation and inventive musicianship, this concert will delight young audiences, families and friends of all generations alike. Being a mountain goat is no fun when you are scared of heights – poor Giddy’s head spins and his knees turn to jelly. Can he find the fearless goat inside himself in time to rescue little Edmund? A wonderful concert to enjoy with family.

THEATRE BY THE LAKE: ‘THE GINGERBREAD MAN’

Wednesday 20, 2pm, Thursday 21 February 11am and 2pm
‘Imagine being born in an oven and the first person you meet wants to dunk you in his tea! Come and see the adventure of the deliciously smelling Gingerbread Man who finds his feet fast and sets off on the journey of a lifetime.

(no scary bits – just don’t turn up hungry!)

sourpuss theatre

THEATRE BY THE LAKE: ‘SOURPUSS’

Thursday 21- Friday 22 February, 11am & 2pm

Sourpuss is a very grumpy, ginger cat. When shut out of the house he feels lost and confused, but the beautiful garden soon intrigues him.. This playful adventure features string and shadow puppets beautifully crafted by hand.

THEATRE BY THE LAKE: ‘BRANIAC LIVE’

Saturday 23 February, 2pm & 6pm

Strap on your safety goggles boys and girls, due to popular demand Science’s greatest and most volatile live show is returning with a vengeance. Expect exploding dustbins, combusting microwaves and loads of live daredevil stunts. Watch from the safety of your seat as the Brainiacs delve fearlessly into the mysteries of science and do all of those things on stage that you’re too scared to do at home.

This show contains pyrotechnics and loud bangs.
Suitable for ages 6+
