The Great Print Exhibition 2017

Great print exhibition

Friday 17 November – Sunday 18 February 2018

The Great Print Exhibition is the largest exhibition of its kind in the UK. With over 350 framed artworks on the wall by over 60 printmakers from up and down Britain, it’s an excellent chance to see and buy original art. You’ll be able to learn about this widely varied art form, with information on how different prints are made and videos showing artists making their work, along with examples of tools and printing plates used to create prints. On certain days, the Making Space will be occupied by a printmaker, offering live demonstrations as they create new prints right there in the gallery.

The Rheged Centre, Penrith, is at the northern gateway to the English Lake District, has a vibrant arts and family events programme and welcomes 450,000 visitors every year. In addition to the award winning Gallery, giant cinema, indoor and outdoor play and pottery and block printing workshop, you will also find individual shops selling children’s books and toys, outdoor clothing and gadgets, local food and drink in their Foodhall, niche skincare, quality clothing and British wool products all of which champion provenance, craftsmanship and design, which is also true of the cafes at Rheged which serve local seasonal produce.  Rheged is a family business which is rooted in Cumbria and it’s also a building of architectural merit, with one the largest grass roofs in the Country.
