Coinciding with Crafty Vintage’s weekend fair on Saturday 4 August we will be screening everyone’s favorite holiday film, Sightseers(15) at Lowther Castle
Far more than an outdoor cinema, the full Picnic Cinema experience includes dressing up, camping over, and letting your hair down with fun and games before the film, music, dancing and many more surprises.
This dark comedy follows Chris, who shows his girlfriend some of his favorite sights in the north of England. Events soon conspire against the couple and their dream caravan holiday takes a very turn. Some familiar nearby locations feature in the film, including Keswick’s Pencil Museum, Long Meg & her Daughters and Honister Slate Mine.

Food and Drink: Food and Drinks Stalls on site with Crafty Vintage market, bring your own also allowed. Lowther Castle Cafe will be open from 9am on Sunday for Breakfast Butties, tea & coffee.
Arrival Time: Campers entry from 5.30pm. Non campers entry from 7.30pm, entertainment starts from 8.00pm and film starts at dusk (approx 9.30pm)
What to bring:
Torch – its dark out there
Chair – we do not provide seating
Warm clothes – even if its 30 degrees in the day it will get cold at night. Wrap up warm
Wet weather gear – we hope it won’t but it might rain
food – bring a picnic, or where allowed a bbq (check site info for details)
Drink- you can bring your own (no glass) and there will also be a bar
Tent – and all that goes with camping overnight
Sensible shoes – surfaces may be uneven
