Join the Border Astronomical Society to discover the night sky and go stargazing!
Enjoy a ‘What’s Up There Tonight’ introductory talk and presentation at the Sportsman Inn before heading off to go stargazing in the Nature Reserve.
There will be a 6″ refracting telescope available as well as two Cassegrain telescopes and a pair of mounted binoculars.
If the night sky is clear you should get a spectacular view of the stars. As there is no moon, the planets Mars and Uranus should be visible. Along with prominent constellations such as the Hercules cluster, the Great nebula in Andromeda and the Pleiades.
If no observing is possible due to weather then there will be a presentation about astrophotography for beginners. Followed by an illustrated talk on an astronomical topic.
Sturdy boots recommended and booking is required.
