The World’s Original Marmalade Festival will be returning on Saturday 16th March, so put the date in your diaries and get ready to go orange! Join us for a weekend of marmalade celebrations with demonstrations, talks, exhibitions and shows that will inspire you, your family and friends to take the nation’s marmalade to your heart.
Dalemain remains the heart of the Awards, with the Awards ceremony taking place on Saturday 17th March at 10am in front of the house. See which homemade marmalade maker has won the accolade of ‘Double Gold 2019 Winner’, and taste their award winning marmalade, co-branded and sold by leading grocer Fortnum & Mason.
The Mansion will be open with a full display of all the marmalade entries in the state rooms, as well as hundreds of Artisan marmalades from all over the world available to taste, Marmalade demonstrations, Question Times with the experts and an array of marmalade inspired delicious food in the Great Barn and Mediaeval Hall Tearoom.
The Mansion will also be open on Sunday 18th March with more tastings and demos.
PENRITH GOES ORANGE
Penrith Goes Orange will take place in Penrith town centre on Saturday 16th March. The whole town is preparing to go marmalade mad, with food markets, music and entertainment, including magicians, musicians, dancing and storytelling, as well as a visit from everyone’s favourite marmalade-loving bear! Visitors will also find quirky activities such as a teddy bear zip line, a marmalade trail and a whole host of orange windows, with special orange offers from lots of local residents! Whether you’re a fan of marmalade or not, this is a day to be enjoyed by everyone.
A FREE shuttle bus will run between Dalemain and Penrith Town centre across the weekend.
