Try a kayaking lesson with the children, or if alone time is needed, we have supervised activities in the Kids’ Zone so you can make time for a treatment this Easter holiday.

Morning supervision – 10-12noon (Mon 22-Thurs 25 & Sun 28 April)

Children's archery

Our coaches run through the basics of archery for children. Theory and safety, then shooting at targets a stone’s throw from our front door.

11.30pm – 12.30pm Saturday 30 March, Wednesday 3, Sunday 7, Monday 8, Friday 12, Monday 15, Wednesday 17, Thursday 18 and Saturday 20 April

Archery is £5pp and suitable for children 7 years and over.

Starting from the hotel, paddle and float your way around the lake in the company of a qualified instructor in either a kayak (adults) or a canoe (families) and take in all that the valley has to offer for £30pp.

Stand-up paddleboarding on Ullswater

A beautiful way to see the lake and feel at home amongst the mountains. Suitable for beginners, our fully qualified instructors tailor every session. £30pp.

Family Stand Up Paddleboarding

A great family activity, Stand Up Paddleboarding is accessible, easy to learn and seriously fun. Our fully qualified instructors tailor every session. £30pp.

Kayaking on Ullswater

A great way of getting younger ones out onto the water. The whole family can join a fully qualified instructor in a guided canoe session around the lake. £30pp.

Entrance to the Rheged Centre in the Lake District

Monday 1 – Monday 22 April

Visit the resident chicks of Rheged, courtesy of Lakes Free Range. They have a viewing incubator so you can go and see the eggs hatching every day. Join in by helping name the Rheged chicks and the winner will receive a special prize.

Mole’s first day in ‘The Willows’. Her classmates look a bit scary. Surely Mr Badger will look out for her, as streetwise Rattie, rich kid Toad and cheeky Otter teach her the ways of The Riverbank. But when Toad gets locked up for joyriding, the Weasel Clan break into his (lily)pad. It’s now only a matter of time before Chief Weasel reveals Mole’s dark secret…

Easter egg hunt at Lowther Castle

Saturday 30 March – Monday 22 April

This year, the egg-hunt at Lowther Castle and Gardens – an annual favourite for miles around – is based once again around the theme of Dragons & Chocolate. Only for 2019, the trail will have a chocolate button angle. Be sure to plan a trip to Lowther for a few hours of chocotastic funtime, this Easter.

Teddies Go Free with Ullswater Steamers

30 March to 22 April

The lovable ‘Teddies Go Free’ event is back at Ullswater Steamers and their teddy trail returns too! Can you locate all of the bears? Every child travels free when accompanied on board with their teddy and an adult with a valid Cruise All Piers pass. Don’t forget to share your favourite day out pictures online and use #TeddyFest.

You are cordially invited to the Peter Rabbit Tea Party. Join Peter Rabbit for some scrumptious party food including sandwiches, sausage rolls, crisps and cakes.

‘Beatrix Potter’ will read The Tale of Peter Rabbit and every child receives a small gift, a balloon and their very own rabbit ears. Your ticket also includes entry into the attraction before the party. Fun for all the family!

Easter egg hunt at Wray Castle

19 – 22 April

Visit Wray Castle between 10am and 4pm over the Easter weekend, and take part in an Easter egg hunt.

As part of the Birds of Wray Castle Quest taking place over the Easter holidays, you’ll need to try and find the right nest for your chosen bird. On completing the hunt, you’ll be rewarded with a Cadbury chocolate prize (while stocks last).
