Theatre by the Lake

Theatre by the Lake has to have one of the most breathtaking settings of any theatre in the UK; perched on the shores of Derwentwater, a visit to a show is always accompanied by some unforgettable views.

Described by The Telegraph as combining “a spot as idyllic as anywhere on Earth, with first-class theatrical entertainment”, the theatre puts on multiple highly acclaimed shows throughout the year, across its two stages. And, guests of Another Place receive a discount on tickets.

With an eclectic mix of performances, screenings, literature and mountain festivals, belly laugh comedies and roof-raising musicals, there’s something for everyone.  And of course, nipping out in the interval to have your ice-cream or drink down by the lake as the sun sets is pretty special.

Keswick Mountain Festival

Tales of incredible feats, high profile speakers, films, exhibitions, outdoor swimming, competitions, art, music and stories at one of the UK’s best-loved outdoor festivals. The best bit? The Festival Village is FREE to enter during the daytime until 5pm.

One Man, Two Guvnors

The smash-hit comedy comes to Theatre by the Lake, set in 1963 it tells the story of Francis Henshall as he searches for food and romance. Hilarious slapstick, comedic performance with live music.

The Borrowers

This year the Christmas production is the family classic the ‘Borrowers’. This production sees the main house transformed into a huge theatrical play area. The tale itself is created with energetic and acrobatic feats, as well as magical storytelling.
