Guided walks in the Eden Valley with Visit Eden 17 – 25 March

Alston Eden Valley

Step outside, take in the fresh air of the Eden Valley and discover all that Cumbria has to offer with Visit Eden, from 17 – 25 March for English Tourism Week.

Each walk is located in the Eden Valley, where you can take in the views of the lakes and mountains around Ullswater. Eden Valley is home to part of The Lake District National Park and the moorlands of the North Pennines around Alston, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll be able to see the River Eden flowing through the rolling countryside.

Join Penrith Ramblers at Askham Hall, on 18 March at 9.45am for a 7.5 mile walk along grassy paths and around the hills surrounding Ullswater. With excellent views guaranteed, confident walkers will rejoice at the scenery of this trail.

For those bringing children or needing a more accessible walk, start at The Cloisters at 10.30am on 22 March. This walk along the Northern Viaduct Trust route has options for starting and finishing as preferred.

Head out over Dufton Pike with Penrith Ramblers on 23 March, starting at Dufton Village Green for a 4.5 mile walk, walkers will also be able to go around rather than uphill if they’re not feeling up to the challenge.

If you’re interested in the iconic views of The Lake District (and who isn’t?) then gaze out over the North Pennines on 23 March from 9.15, starting from Dufton Village Green with Penrith Ramblers.
